Oral Presentation Information
|
| General Information |
|
The duration of a slot for a contributed presentation is 20 minutes, approximately 17 minutes for the presentation itself,
2 minutes for discussion, and 1 minute for introduction and setup. You should arrive in your session room 10 minutes before the start of the session and report to the chairperson.
An audio-visual operator will be available to assist with technical matters. Please check the session schedule on the web to see which day and time you are presenting.

| Prepartion of Visuals |
- You are strongly encouraged to attend the Speaker's Breakfast on the day of your talk. Here, you will meet the chair of your session and the other speakers in your session. Your session chair needs to know that you are ready to present your paper.
- All session rooms will be equipped with digital projectors and local PCs (MS Windows operating system with MS Powerpoint & Adobe Acrobat Reader). The last portion of the speaker's breakfast is loading your presentation onto the local PCs.
No presentations are to be removed from the local PC's. You should bring a CD-ROM or a USB flash memory stick containing your presentation file (MS Powerpoint format or PDF format). Files must be uploaded to the local PCs in the lecture rooms in the morning before sessions start,
or during the lunch break, well before the next session starts. To avoid software compatibility problems, you should bring your MS Powerpoint prepared with the Package for CD feature. Also we suggest that you bring a copy of your presentation in PDF format, as a backup.

| General Considerations: |
- Limit the number of words per visual to no more than 20.
- Leave space, at least the height of a capital letter, between lines of text.
- All fonts, including that on graphs, should be 20 point or larger.
- Graphs and charts should have bold lines and symbols that contrast sharply with the background.
- Your presentation time is about 15-17 minutes, leaving 3-5 minutes for questions from audiences.
- A reasonable presentation time for each slide is about 1-2 minutes, as any shorter interval will make it difficult for the audience to understand.
